Job Context:
∎ WorldFish is implementing an aquaculture and nutrition interventions in the Feed the Future Zone of Influence (ZOI) and planning interventions in host communities affected by refugees influx in the Feed the Future Zone of Resilience (ZOR) of Cox`s Bazar and Bandarban District in Bangladesh.
∎ Under the direct technical guidance of ZOR (Zone of Resilience) Coordinator, the Aquaculture Specialist will provide aquaculture technical supports to private sectors and NGOs through a market systems approach and/or other approaches. The incumbents will facilitate the activities for increasing smallholder production, strengthen value chains and improve nutrition ensuring aquaculture sector investments and growth. The incumbents will collaborate with ZOR Coordinator and facilitate to identify and design interventions with the private sector (actors involved in hatcheries, nurseries, trading of seed, fish production and dried fish producers), Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), commercial businesses companies and NGOs.

∎ Results 1: Improved quality seed supply
∎ Results 2: Improved access to quality of feeds and other pond inputs
∎ Results 3: Increased nutrition sensitive aquaculture, improved nutritional awareness and practices, increased access to diverse and nutritious food and increased market demand from consumers
∎ Results 4: Improved methods for dried fish production
∎ This position will be based at WorldFish`s Country Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in April 2020 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence as soon as possible for an initial two (2) years and eight (8) months fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1.Planning and implementation:
∎ Identify opportunities, challenges and gaps in the aquaculture sector and plan, design & implement interventions that improve productivity, strengthen value chains and improve nutrition for smallholder farmers.
∎ Facilitate to develop detail work plan, budgets and writing proposal descriptions.
∎ Work in a team of Activity specialists (market, nutrition, grants, environment, gender and youth, communications and MEL) to implementation of activities.
∎ Organize and facilitate the Activity at various events (workshop, seminars and visits).
∎ Liaise with the public-private sector, NGOs and associated stakeholders.
∎ 2. Partnership facilitation:
∎ Identify and develop a detail inventory of contacts of private companies and NGO and initiate building relationships with potential partners.
∎ Facilitate to identify and select private companies and NGOs and facilitate the development of business proposal and strategies.
∎ Assist in negotiating sub-grant agreement between the Activity and private companies and NGOs.
∎ Facilitate and monitor interventions implemented by private companies and NGOs efficiently and effectively.
∎ Establish strong coordination among the Activity components and with the partners.
∎ 3. Capacity development:
∎ Assist in developing training materials, modules and other materials for the partners.
∎ Facilitate to conduct training sessions, workshops, meetings, seminars, exposure visits, field visits and associated events.
∎ Assist partners for efficient grant management and compliance related to the Activity, USAID and WorldFish procedures.
∎ 4. Admin, grants and finance:
∎ Assist in planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and reporting.
∎ Assist operational support including administrative, grants, finance and procurement functions.
∎ Support initial assessment of applications from call for proposal submitted by private companies and NGOs.
∎ 5. Monitoring Evaluation and Learning:
∎ Assist monitoring evaluation and learning (MEL) team in Activity data collection, analysis, interpretation and report preparation.
∎ Provide information to the Activity knowledge management (KM) platform for ensuring collaborating, learning and adapting (CLA) for internal users (activity staff) and external users (market actors).
∎ 6. Reporting, documentation and presentation:
∎ Facilitate to prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports.
∎ Assist in documenting success stories and case studies.
∎ Assist to prepare PowerPoint presentations.
∎ Facilitate documentation and share learning with the Activity team.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 05 years of related experience in aquaculture, market system, enterprise and entrepreneurial development, NGO management, or related discipline ideally within the field of aquaculture.
∎ Knowledge in inclusive gender-sensitive value chain approaches, M4P or similar programs and at least 4 years of experience in market focused programs.
∎ Knowledge of the various smallholder and commercial aquaculture systems using in Bangladesh.
∎ Strong analytical skills in planning, designing, implementation, monitoring and report writing in English.
∎ Excellent communication, presentation and training skills.
∎ Experience in quantitative/qualitative research methods, as well as conducting field-based assessments.
∎ Strong interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
∎ Willingness to drive motor bike and travel extensively, around 70% or more of the time.
∎ Proficient in MS office, excel, PowerPoint, outlook to support effective communication.
∎ Ability to work independently, excellent in time management skill and working with strict deadlines.
∎ Experience in entrepreneurship, business management and private sector investment networks.
∎ Experience in working for women's empowerment and nutrition issues in small scale aquaculture.
∎ Experience in working with digital tools for e-learning and/or business development.
∎ Working experience with dry fish market system will be an added value.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 1347224 - 1516312 (Monthly)
∎ This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with annual salary ranging between BDT 1,347,224 - BDT 1,516,312 per annum. WorldFish NRS shall receive comprehensive benefits including (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, and pension / provident fund contribution.
