Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure smooth ship operation through managing and monitoring all the tasks related to vessels management by maintaining good relation with ship regulatory authority, local port agent/authority, customs, DG shipping, Chattogram Sea Port Immigration Office etc.
∎ Ensure safe transportation of goods and commodities by managing and monitoring the IGM (Import General Manifest)/ EGM (Export General Manifest) related tasks at the destination custom location.
∎ Ensure that ship office clearance, road certificate, land certificate, danger goods consent and arrival report are obtained properly for each ship and attend the daily berthing meeting with Ctg. Port Authority (CPA).
∎ Ensure that standards are followed and maintained in Flag administration by monitoring inward/ outward clearance formalities of Bangladesh flag ships to government shipping office.
∎ Make sure that registration and waiver certificate related activities of foreign vessels are done properly and ensure proper follow up regarding article endorsement and documentation of crew change management.
∎ Maintain collaborative relationship with different government officials i.e. govt. shipping office, Ctg. port authority, MMD, MCD, Tax office, Dock labour safety office and Ctg. port health office.
∎ Ensure proper follow up regarding the attainment of NOC from income tax office, Free PRATIQUE (Restricted Pratique) from Ctg. port health office, port health certificate, issue shore pass from Ctg. sea port immigration and take permission to remove product from dock labor safety office.
∎ Ensure on time payment of light dues of every ships as well as submission of final entry after reaching ships in Chattogram Port.
∎ Ensure that statements of facts are prepared properly based on daily reports of stevedore during product unloading from ships.
∎ Ensure that all vessels are following operational procedures as per MMD (Mercantile Marine Department) in every aspect of ship certificates, Crew certificates and No Objection Certificates of vessels.
∎ Assure there is no conflict of interest with the organization by developing a collaborative relationship with the parties.
∎ Take care of team members through motivation, inspiration and guidance that encourages team bonding within the department.
∎ Maximize the potentiality of team members by developing & growing them through training, mentoring & supervising that contribute to the growth of the organization.
∎ Maintain good relationship with Management by ensuring on time enquiry support which includes collecting information from reliable sources, maintaining records and preserving important reference documents with high confidentiality.
∎ Develop collaborative relationship with all the Business Leaders of MGI through maintaining proper bridge of cooperation, facilitation & group cohesiveness
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 35 years
∎ Candidate should have sound knowledge about PDA, regulations of Customs Authority, Port Authority, and Other Regulatory Authority & Vessel’s Berthing Procedure etc.
∎ Practical experience in handling claim, cargo short landing and dispute.
∎ Good command over oral & written communication in English.
∎ Proficient in computer applications, i.e. Email communication, Software Application, Microsoft office.
∎ Interpersonal skill & Negotiation skill.
