Job Context:
We are looking for an honest, detail-oriented Accountant for a Qawmi Girls Residential Madrasah in Dhaka. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining full financial transparency of student fees, hostel/boarding expenses, teacher-staff salaries, and donations (Zakat, Sadaqah, Waqf). He/She will work under the direct supervision of the Mohtamim / Madrasah Management Committee.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fees & Collection Management: Collect monthly tuition fees, admission fees, and hostel/boarding charges from students, issue proper receipts, and maintain individual student ledger books
- Donation & Fund Accounting: Maintain separate registers for Zakat, Sadaqah, Fitra, Waqf, and general donations as per Shariah guidelines, and ensure proper utilization
- Daily Bookkeeping: Record all daily income and expenses in cash book / accounting software (Tally/Excel) and preserve vouchers, bills, and supporting documents
- Payroll Processing: Prepare monthly salary sheets for teachers, hostel wardens, cooks, and other staff, and ensure timely payment with signatures
- Hostel & Mess Accounts: Manage daily bazaar expenses, ration/stock for residential students, kitchen costs, and prepare monthly mess expenditure reports
- Budgeting & Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual income-expense reports and present to the Mohtamim and Shura Committee
- Bank & Cash Handling: Operate bank accounts, handle cash deposits/withdrawals, reconcile bank statements, and ensure safe custody of cash
- Procurement Support: Verify purchase bills for madrasah construction, books, uniforms, and relief materials, and ensure competitive pricing
- Audit Compliance: Coordinate with internal/external auditors, prepare documents for annual audit, and ensure financial discipline and transparency
- Record Keeping: Maintain all financial files, student fee records, staff salary records, and donation receipts in an organized and confidential manner
