∎ Previous experience working with NGOs, government agencies, and local communities in the field of public health engineering.
∎ Experience of working in fragile context.
∎ Fluent in English both written and spoken.
∎ Highly diplomatic with strong oral and written communication skills.
∎ Demonstrate high-level technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
∎ Strong technical knowledge in water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, and public health engineering.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
∎ Proficient in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and collaboration skills.
∎ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

∎ We are seeking a highly skilled WASH Coordinator – Public Health Engineering to join the HELVETAS Bangladesh under the IWASH project to lead technical and implementation aspects of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives. With expertise in public health engineering, the candidate will ensure safe, inclusive, and gender-appropriate WASH infrastructure and services. This role involves coordinating project implementation, providing technical guidance, and fostering collaboration with donors, government agencies, and local communities. The ideal candidate brings expertise in monitoring and evaluation, leveraging data-driven insights to track project impact, optimize resources, and drive continuous improvements. Strong skills in rapport building, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy will enable them to enhance community participation and promote sustainable WASH solutions. The key responsibilities for this role may include the following but are not limited to:
∎ Coordinate and oversee the successful implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project initiatives in alignment of its goals and objectives.
∎ Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
∎ Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders to address challenges and facilitate smooth project execution.
∎ Provide specialized technical guidance and support in Public Health Engineering aspects to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of safe, accessible, inclusive, and gender appropriate WASH initiatives appropriate to the context of project working areas.
∎ Develop innovative solutions and best practices to improve water and sanitation infrastructure and services within project communities.
∎ Foster effective collaboration and communication among internal team members and external partners, including donors, government agencies, and local communities.
∎ Coordinate closely with relevant stakeholders to align activities, share resources, and maximize project impact.
∎ Advocate for inclusive WASH financing, ensuring budgets account for gender-specific infrastructure needs (e.g., MHM facilities, accessible water points).
∎ Build strong relationships with relevant networks, community leaders, and local authorities to create a conducive environment for WASH interventions.
∎ Represent the Partner NGO at meetings, workshops, and other events to advocate for WASH issues and garner support for project initiatives.
∎ Develop robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project progress, assess outcomes, and measure the impact of WASH interventions.
∎ Collect and analyze data to generate comprehensive reports, identify key performance indicators, and recommend adjustments for continuous improvement.
∎ Monitor public Heath Engineering initiatives through sex-, age-, and disability-disaggregated data to ensure accessibility for all and collect feedback from direct participants to learn needs and effectiveness of project activities.
