Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical Director (Country Lead) is the senior most position of Jhpiego Bangladesh Country Program based in Dhaka.
∎ S/he will generally serve the role of 'Country Focal' of Jhpiego's current awards being implemented in Bangladesh. As a senior leader, the incumbent will principally lead the 'Accelerating Access to Postpartum Family Planning (AAPPFP)' project and will be responsible for ensuring overall quality and impact of this program.
∎ The position will provide overall strategic direction in the design, management, implementation and project monitoring as well as adjust project activities as needed.
∎ As technical lead, s/he will provide technical support for improving the quality of clinical services including capacity building, improving infection prevention measures and compliance with the clinical standards for provision of all aspects of antenatal care, delivery services, postnatal care and counselling. S/he will be also responsible for scaling-up interventions and improving quality of PPFP services in the selected districts of the project areas.
∎ The Technical Director (Country Focal) will be the primary point of contact for Jhpiego Bangladesh Programs with national level stakeholders such as Directorate General Family Planning (DGFP), Directorate General Health Services (DGHS), Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) and other critical partners to provide high-level support for effective capacity building at the local level and sustainability of the project interventions.
∎ As the senior most organizational representative, s/he will also play a key role for building diversified collaborations and networking with key players at the national level to identify and develop new project opportunities, with the support of headquarters.
∎ The incumbent will also provide programmatic and technical oversight to the other current awards and monitor budgets and program related expenditures for ensuring effective and efficient programming in Bangladesh.
∎ S/he is expected to work closely with the financial and other operational staff to ensure compliance and integrity of all operational activities related to programs and maintain appropriate reports and records.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 9-10 years' experience of designing and delivering health programs in development sector along with a substantial period of management experience
∎ Hands on experience of implementing and/or providing technical assistance in reproductive health, including family planning and maternal health
∎ Demonstrated experience of providing capacity building assistance at individual and organizational levels to the clinical and community-based healthcare workers on family planning and maternal health
∎ Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the Bangladesh healthcare system, particularly the public health system
∎ Proven track record managing a project team composed of several technical experts and fostering team work
∎ Excellent diplomacy skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships with multiple donors and stakeholders
∎ Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills in both English and Bengali
∎ Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, intense pressure to perform and maintain a positive team dynamic
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Teams, Zoom)
∎ Ability to travel nationally to project sites
