Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide individual and group counseling services to students dealing with personal, academic, emotional, or psychological issues.
∎ Offer crisis intervention and support in times of trauma, loss, or significant life events.
∎ Assist students in managing stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns.
∎ Maintain confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions in compliance with privacy and ethical standards.
∎ Design and implement preventive programs to enhance students' emotional well-being, academic skills, and personal development (e.g., stress management, study skills, time management, mental health awareness).
∎ Organize workshops, seminars, or support groups on topics like self-esteem, resilience, and emotional regulation.
∎ Provide training for faculty, staff, and parents on recognizing signs of distress in students and how to refer them for appropriate support.
∎ Work closely with academic advisors, faculty, administrators, and parents to ensure holistic student support.
∎ Collaborate with external mental health professionals, community organizations, and resources for referrals when necessary.
∎ Participate in school or university committees on student well-being, discipline, or diversity and inclusion.
∎ Supervise and mentor junior counselors or interns, providing guidance on best practices in student counseling.
∎ Support the professional development of other counselors through training, feedback, and ongoing education.
∎ Lead or participate in team meetings to discuss challenging cases and share insights and strategies.
