Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Speech and Language Therapy

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
∎ Liaising with other professionals such as doctors and ear/nose/throat (ENT) specialists.
∎ Keeping detailed clinical notes and drafting reports on patient symptoms, treatments and progress.
∎ Create and carry out an individualized treatment plan that addresses specific functional needs.
∎ Teach patients on how to perform various exercises designed to strengthen the muscles of the face, jaw and tongue.
∎ Monitor patients' progress continually and make treatment plan adjustments when needed.
∎ Ability to perform diagnostic tests ie. MBSS
∎ Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies
∎ Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
∎ Maintaining professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide patients with the best treatment program available.
∎ Complying with the local institutional and state certification requirements.
∎ Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
∎ Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
∎ Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
∎ Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
∎ Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
∎ Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.
∎ Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.
∎ Assess the cause and nature of the problem, for example, congenital problems (such as cleft palate) or acquired disorders after a stroke or injury
∎ Devise and deliver a suitable treatment program, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each of your clients to improve as much as possible
∎ Review and revise the program as appropriate
∎ Advise carers on implementing a treatment program and train other professionals in therapy delivery
∎ Monitor and evaluate your clients' progress
∎ Write confidential client case notes and reports, as well as information for clients, carers and other professionals
∎ Manage a caseload while taking into account priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referral and discharge of service users
∎ Work within a team to improve the effectiveness of service delivery.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Should be proactive and dedicated to patient satisfaction, and able to work under pressure.
∎ Advance Training on Speech and Language Therapiy management in Intensive Care, Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Pediatric conditions and attended in different scientific seminars will get preference.
∎ Proven ability to exercise good communication judgment.
∎ Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues and/or partners from varied cultures and professional background. Excellent organizational and methodical skills.
∎ Knowledge in developing strategies and report writing skills. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
