Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supervising the dining area: As a senior waiter, you may be responsible for overseeing the dining area and coordinating the activities of the waitstaff. This includes assigning tables to servers, ensuring proper table setup, and maintaining a pleasant atmosphere for guests.
∎ Training and mentoring: Senior waiters often play a role in training new or junior waitstaff members. You may be responsible for teaching them about the restaurant's procedures, standards of service, and customer interaction guidelines.
∎ Assisting with service: Senior waiters typically handle more complex or high-profile tables, providing attentive service to guests. This may involve taking orders, suggesting menu items, answering questions about the menu, and ensuring the timely delivery of food and beverages.
∎ Resolving customer concerns: As a senior waiter, you may be called upon to address any customer complaints or concerns. This could involve listening to customer feedback, resolving issues, or escalating matters to the management if necessary.
∎ Upselling and promoting specials: Senior waiters are often tasked with upselling additional menu items or promoting daily specials to increase revenue. This requires a good understanding of the menu and the ability to make compelling recommendations to guests.
∎ Cash handling and billing: Senior waiters may be responsible for handling cash transactions, processing payments, and ensuring accurate billing. This may include reconciling receipts, handling credit card transactions, and providing change to customers.
