Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist cardiologists during catheterization procedures
∎ Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
∎ Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including performing physical assessments, obtaining informed consent, and providing pre-procedure education
∎ Administer medications as prescribed and document patient responses to medications
∎ Provide patient and family education regarding pre-and post-procedure care and any potential risks associated with cardiac catheterization procedures
∎ Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for side effects.
∎ Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, and ensure timely and appropriate interventions for patient conditions.
∎ Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
∎ Assist in managing patients with chronic conditions, post-operative care, or acute medical conditions, ensuring optimal recovery.
∎ Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
∎ Delegate tasks and responsibilities to junior nurses and ensure their work is completed accurately and efficiently.
∎ Offer training and support to new nursing staff and interns, promoting professional development within the nursing team.
∎ Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, medication administration, and post-discharge care instructions.
∎ Provide health promotion and disease prevention education to patients, encouraging healthier lifestyles and self-care.
∎ Collaborate with physicians, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
∎ Participate in patient rounds and case discussions, offering insights and recommendations based on patient assessments.
∎ Participate in hospital quality improvement programs, audits, and patient safety initiatives to maintain high standards of care.
∎ Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and infection control standards in the delivery of patient care.
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting nursing interventions, patient responses, and care outcomes.
∎ Prepare and submit nursing reports and documentation for medical records and regulatory purposes.
∎ Respond to medical emergencies in the hospital, providing immediate care and stabilizing patients as necessary.
∎ Stay updated with the latest developments in nursing practices, medical advancements, and hospital procedures.
∎ Carry out other related duties as and when assigned by the Management.
