Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Shipbuilding & Marine Technology from Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology or its equivalent with practical experience on Shipbuilding in reputed Shipyard/Dockyard.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Dockyard, Shipyard
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Able to understand all types of drawings (Structural, Outfitting, Piping, Electrical, HVAC etc).
∎ Prepare and Drive the overall structural inspection program (e.g., material verification, Fit-up inspection, final inspection in all stages of fabrication and erection.
∎ Perform visual inspection of welds as per Code, standard and Specification, preparing Request for Inspection (RFP) for Fit-ups, Visual, NDT as per on-site Job Description.
∎ Must have thorough knowledge and understanding on different welding methods and review of NDT.
∎ Liaison and coordinate with Class Supervisor and Ship Owner's representative to carry out inspection.
∎ Review dimension reports of all blocks, sub-blocks, major blocks, erection blocks.
∎ Perform Punch Clearance Inspection for delivery of the project.
∎ Ensure all fabrication works are in accordance with the approved drawings and latest revision, specification and meets the Classification Standard.
∎ Should have comprehensive working knowledge on Quality Control of Marine Epoxy Paint Scheme for Ship's Underwater and above water Hull and structure including Sand Blasting, painting of internal structure including methodology of surface preparation before applying paints.
∎ Must have comprehensive knowledge and assessment on Material quality and Estimation for the construction work.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years practical experience in the field of Quality Control on construction and supervision of Hull, Structure, Pipes and Out Fittings of new shipbuilding projects; of which at least 1 year on Class Standard Ships.
∎ Computer Literacy: Excellent in Microsoft Word, Exel Sheet, Auto CAD
∎ Good communication skill and teamwork.
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
