Job Context:
∎ ASOD is a reputed non-government national organization in Bangladesh working since 1985 and engaged in transforming the lives of community people significantly in selected areas of the country. The existence of ASOD was based on building upon active and spontaneous participation of the extreme poor, ensuring gender equality, social justice, disaster preparedness, productive and sustainable development and protection of the rights of the underprivileged by building a society free from all sorts of exploitation. The organization has implementing multi-dimensional programs like, agriculture, livestock, women empowerment, livelihood, disaster, health and nutrition, Water & Sanitation, non-formal education, resources mobilization, market development,etc.
∎ With the support from Concern Worldwide and funded by DFID/UNOPS, ASOD is going to implement a project named `Monsoon Flood Recovery (MFRP) Project` in Phulchory and Sundarganj Upazila of Gaibandha Districit. The project aims to strengthen the case for recovery the flood lose and damaged in targeted areas. Project will work with local government DMCs and affected communities to implement Food Security and WASH to address the health, hygiene, economical and physical issues for the affected communities.
∎ Project Name: Monsoon Flood Recovery (MFRP) Project
∎ Job Location: Gaibandha district (the position will be based at Upazila level)
∎ Types of contract: Contractual
∎ Project Duration: 05 months
∎ Relationships: S/he will report to Project Manager.
∎ Job Summary: Project Officer- Engineering is responsible for site selection and ensure WaSH component installation as per project guideline and objectives. S/he also responsible for coordination between project and Government relevant stakeholders. S/he will make ensure of the participation of local government stakeholders and communities for implementation.
∎ Project Office will be responsible for overall project implementation and ensures that activities are implemented as per plan and quality of activities is maintained, liaison, networking and advocacy at local level, reporting to the Project Manager, s/he will be responsible for day to day support to the front line staff and overall monitoring and evaluation of project activities ensuring that front line staffs are conversant in the project monitoring framework, tools and processes and monitoring data are collected and analysis from the field accordingly.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Site selection for installation Tube well and other WaSH component.
∎ Design and estimate the cost for installation water point in selection areas.
∎ Conduct orientation and awareness session on proper management of the WaSH component.
∎ Orient project staff for monitoring and supervision WaSH construction work
∎ Ensure quality of WaSH materials
∎ Ensure Quality work for WaSH component installation/construction
∎ Communicating to the team a clear target for the Project and for the role of the team in delivering the project for the Project Participants/community
∎ Ensuring that the staffs fully understand the outcomes that are expected of them and that they are aware of the success criteria, which pertain to the project.
∎ Ensuring a house to house survey is carried out in selecting the appropriate project participants, as per the project guideline.
∎ Ensure cash for work/grants proper utilization/management
∎ Ensuring any misconduct /money transaction for selecting beneficiaries are not taking place and any variations are reported on time to the PM with mitigation measures.
∎ Ensuring the coordination with other / NGOs / Govt. on issues such as, but not limited to, avoiding any duplication in selecting participants or villages or any other issues.
∎ Ensuring the coordination and communication with DC, UNO, local govt (formal), and other stake holders in advance by sharing detail plan.
∎ Ensuring the print and electronic media people are invited to the distribution centre(s) for necessary coverage.
∎ Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Programme Coordinator/Project Manager
∎ Prepare monthly plan and report.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years' professional experience in relevant field.
Salary:
∎ Gross Salary BDT: 42000.00 (Forty two thousand).
