Educational Requirements:
∎ B.Sc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering from BUET / MIST / Marine Academy of Bangladesh.
∎ Professional/Specialization Training on Marine Engineering will be considered as added qualification.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 20 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Dockyard, Maritime, Shipyard
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Must have very good administrative and managerial capability of confidently operating a fleet consisting of multiple Oil Tankers for handling their Operational and Maintenance of the Main Propulsion Engines, shipboard machinery and equipment.
∎ Must have at least 5 years' experience as Chief Engineer/Engineer Officer of ships/vessels plying at least within the maritime territory of Bangladesh. Retired Officers of Bangladesh Navy of the rank of Lieutenant Commander/Commander from Engineering Branch may be given preference.
∎ Must have an extensive experience in installation of ship board machinery, erection and fitting of ship's hull, structure and out fittings, epoxy paint scheme including quality control of Class Standard new building ships in reputed Shipyard/Dockyard in Bangladesh or abroad.
∎ Must have thorough knowledge and experience on Break down, Repair and Maintenance of Shipboard mechanical and electrical machinery including Hull & Structures.
∎ Must have comprehensive knowledge on Maritime Laws and Regulations including SOLAS for Inland and Coastal vessels in Bangladesh.
∎ Ensuring the accountability and responsibility of the under command for their production and get-the-work-done as per the Project Time Schedule for the under-construction ships.
∎ Very good Leadership, command and Control, interpersonal, communication and accountability skills towards achieving target-oriented goals.
∎ Must have the capability of presiding work progress meeting with the under-command and contractors and ensure preparing Minutes of the Meeting.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 20 years of experience in maritime organization/ industries and infrastructures.
∎ Computer friendly including extensive email correspondences with superiors and sub-ordinates.
∎ Good communication skill and teamwork.
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
