Responsibilities & Context:
∎ A Project Engineer/Site Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of construction or engineering projects. Their primary responsibility is to assist the Supervisor in overseeing various aspects of project implementation. Key duties include: Scheduling and Planning, Cost Estimating and Budgeting, Reporting and Documentation, Material Management, Procurement Support, Site QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control), Contract Support, etc. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
∎ Maintain and prepare comprehensive, accurate, and timely submittal logs for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project drawings and specifications.
∎ Accountable for receiving approved submittals from Architect or Engineer and notifying the Project Supervisor of potential schedule impact.
∎ Support the Supervisor by preparing all required documentation and backup materials for change requests.
∎ Oversee and monitor all construction processes by being present on-site.
∎ Coordinate with government inspectors to ensure compliance with site requirements, including licenses and safety standards.
∎ Supervises the subcontractors and ensures that they are punctual and that they deliver.
∎ Ensure timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract.
∎ Distribute contract documents to subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, general conditions, and any accepted alternates or addendums
∎ Distribute final requirement documentation to subcontractors.
∎ Schedule and coordinate all required construction meetings with personnel, subcontractors, architects, and owners and take accurate and comprehensive meeting minutes and ensure timely distribution to all relevant parties.
∎ Proactively manage the project to ensure quality, schedule, budget, and safety objectives are met. Utilize and maintain tools such as schedule and document management systems to track and record project performance.
∎ Collect measurements, prepare the bill, and ensure prompt payment to subcontractors and suppliers based on the percentage of completion, in accordance with the timeline upon receipt of payment from the Owner.
∎ Monitor staffing requirements, evaluate performance, and address employee relations issues as needed for the team.
∎ Ensure the safety & security of the project premises.
∎ Prepare the inventory list upon completion and hand it over to the concerned authority, ensuring proper formalities are maintained.
∎ Organize meetings with the project staff to identify and resolve any blockages, consult with and inform the relevant authority, and ensure the smooth continuation of the work.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
