Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Source and evaluate products and suppliers from Chinese online platforms (primarily 1688.com).
∎ Place and manage orders based on internal demand planning and inventory requirements.
∎ Track shipment progress and coordinate with Onrush BD for logistics and customs clearance.
∎ Maintain and update order records, product details, and supplier communication logs.
∎ Negotiate product prices, shipping costs, and payment terms with suppliers.
∎ Collaborate with the Inventory and Category Management teams to ensure accurate SKU details.
∎ Identify alternative suppliers or products in case of stockouts or price increases.
∎ Review quality standards, manage purchase disputes, and follow up on replacements or refunds.
∎ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
∎ Experience in online procurement, sourcing from China, or working with platforms like 1688, Taobao, or Alibaba is preferred.
∎ Basic understanding of logistics and customs procedures for cross-border e-commerce.
∎ Strong communication skills, both in English and knowledge of Chinese.
∎ Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and online ordering systems.
∎ Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to handle multiple orders efficiently.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Procurement Executive is responsible for managing the sourcing, ordering, and follow-up of products from Chinese e-commerce platforms such as 1688.com, Taobao, and others. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and familiarity with cross-border procurement processes. The executive will ensure timely purchase execution, maintain accurate records, and coordinate closely with the logistics and warehouse teams for efficient product delivery to IVAMCO.
