Responsibilities & Context:
∎ • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standard operating procedures.
∎ • Coordinate and oversee the preparation, dispensing and labeling of medications.
∎ • Implement and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures and best practices.
∎ • Lead, mentor, and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
∎ • Schedule staff shifts and manage workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage.
∎ • Conduct training and professional development programs for pharmacy staff.
∎ • Oversee the procurement, storage, and management of medications and supplies.
∎ • Conduct regular inventory checks and manage stock levels to prevent shortages and overstock.
∎ • Ensure proper storage conditions and handle the disposal of expired or unused medications.
∎ • Provide clinical support to patients regarding their medications, including dosage, side effects and interactions.
∎ • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
∎ • Maintain accurate and detailed records of medication dispensing and inventory.
∎ • Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
∎ • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy services.
∎ • Monitor and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
∎ • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy operations and patient care.
∎ • Manage the pharmacy budget, including cost control and expense management, Analyze financial reports and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
∎ • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement, Initiate for yearly agreement with medicine supplier after meeting with management.
∎ • Foster effective communication and collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, and hospital administration.
∎ • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
