Education:
∎ Bachelor’s degree in optometry, awarded upon successful completion of four years of study in optometry, from a locally or internationally certified institution/ Diploma in Medical Technology in optometry.
∎ Diploma in Optometry / MLOP Refractionist / Diploma in Optometry & Low Vision (DOLV).
∎ Preferred Professional Certification: optometry refraction, optometry.

∎ Ability to diagnose and treat eye-related disorders and conditions
∎ 1-3 years’ experience working as a part-time or full-time optometrist.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Perform vision tests & Refraction and analyze results
∎ Advise patients about proper eye hygiene and care
∎ Diagnose sight problems, vision checkup, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases, such as glaucoma
∎ Provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation
∎ Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed
∎ Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses
∎ Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids, and if state law permits, medications
∎ Properly keep & maintain to eye instrument & equipments.
∎ Perform minor surgical procedures to correct or treat visual or eye health issues
∎ Provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation
∎ Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery-for example, examining a patient's eyes the day after surgery
∎ Evaluate patients for the presence of other diseases and conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension, and refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed
∎ Promote eye and general health by counseling patients
∎ Should be attend to field level eye camp
∎ Strong vision screening and refraction skills, including accurate cylinder refraction with a trial lens set. Experience writing eyeglass prescriptions. Ability to diagnose and treat eye-related disorders and conditions.
∎ Experience counseling customers on diagnoses, vision care, and eyeglass selection.
∎ Professional proficiency in verbal and written Bengali and English for internal and external clinical communications.
∎ Excellent customer service. Exceptional skills in addressing customer care needs in a compassionate and sympathetic manner, managing customer expectations, and resolving complaints.
∎ Must meet the highest standards of ethics and personal integrity, with a demonstrated capacity for maintaining confidentiality and protecting customers’ private health and personal information.
∎ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software and other programs/applications.
∎ Any other task assigned by management
