Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct Laboratory Tests: Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunology, following established procedures and protocols.
∎ Operate Equipment: Use and maintain sophisticated laboratory instruments and equipment to conduct tests accurately.
∎ Analyze Test Results: Review, interpret, and validate test results, ensuring they are accurate and meet quality control standards.
∎ Document Findings: Record test results in laboratory information systems and communicate results to physicians and healthcare providers.
∎ Quality Control: Perform regular quality control checks on equipment, reagents, and test results to ensure accuracy and precision.
∎ Maintain Lab Supplies: Order and restock laboratory supplies, ensuring the lab is well-equipped for daily operations.
∎ Safety Protocols: Follow all safety and infection control guidelines to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
∎ Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or inconsistencies in test results, and report to supervisors or equipment technicians.
∎ Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate test results and contribute to patient care.
∎ Stay Updated: Continuously update knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education opportunities, including certifications and workshops.
∎ Professional Development: Stay current with advances in laboratory medicine and technology by attending continuing education courses, workshops, and seminars.
