Experience:

• At least 1 years

• At least 1 years

• At least 1 year of working experience in any hospital/clinic

• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery

• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

The incumbent will be responsible for the hygiene and comfort of patients admitted in the hospital wards

• Accompany patients to the relevant ward/room once their treatment has been prescribed at the outpatient department or admitted as inpatient.

• Transport patient’s incapable of walking: from the ambulance to the triage; from triage to the treatment unit, using stretcher or wheelchair.

• Assist in patient registration process

• Assist the patient to settle in the hospital (arranging chair or bed, blanket, cup, etc.).

• Explain to the patient where the latrines, showers, hand-washing points are.

• Alert the nurse in the event of a problem faced by the patient.

• Distribute meals to patients; checks that patients are eating.

• Ensure patient hygiene (changes soiled clothes or blankets, etc.), assist the patient to go to toilet.

• Collect and transport dirty laundry (patients` clothes and hospital linen) to the laundry.

• Collect clean clothes and returns them to the patients/attendants.

• Sorts and discards medical waste in his/her unit into the appropriate containers.

• Transport deceased patients to the morgue.

• Cleans with detergent, rinses and disinfect with appropriate chlorine solution, the stretcher when soiled and once a day at the end of his duty

• Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
