Job Context:
∎ The company is one of the largest group of companies in Bangladesh . The company operates in the field of property development & construction sector, having build commercial, residential projects & developing projects for the Bangladesh government. The group also operates one of the largest fleet of vessels within the country & consist of companies that may provide end to end logistical support. The company also manufactures & trades building materials such as stone, cement, steel, & plastic products. The founder and Managing Director of the company is a 3rd Parliamentary Member of the Republic of Bangladesh government.
∎ As a Mechanical Engineer he will be responsible for designing cold storages as a whole and in its small portions such as pre-cooling units, sorting, packaging, power supply and other related technical systems.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Analyze problems to see how mechanical devices run and solve the problem
∎ Planning and maintenance schedule. Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of cold storage
∎ Planning and implementing cost effective equipment modification to help improve safety and reliability
∎ Monitoring and commissioning plant & systems.
∎ Working with other professionals within and outside the engineering sector.
∎ Writing reports, Maintain log sheet etc.
∎ Providing report to management with feedback.
∎ Maintain shift log book and other documentation.
∎ Handling shift as supervisor for overall mechanical works.
∎ Monitor technical staff.
∎ Write a report summarizing assessment findings and recommendations for new cold storage facility designs.
∎ Review and study the design and O/M of the cold storage facility.
∎ Assist local engineers/project staff in developing designs for improved product flows and reduce postharvest bottlenecks within existing cold storage facilities.
∎ Assist the development of a mechanism to appropriately supervise and monitor the physical construction works.
∎ Study and develop operation situations to optimize all processes of the cold storage facilities.
∎ Support chief operator in management and operation of the cold storage facility
∎ Propose new appropriate cost-efficient equipment necessary to effectively/efficiently run a cold storage facility
∎ Provide advice to existing cold storage operators to improve the facilities in terms of processing flow and equipment sourcing options.
∎ Support operation shift to deal with problems or breakdowns in case of emergency
∎ Support risk assessment for operation and maintenance activities
∎ Provide solutions to prevent all risk and unsafe conditions of operation and maintenance at cold storage facilities
∎ Provide assistance in accident/incident rescue and investigation when required
∎ Participate the technical meetings, incident/accident/loss product surveys and other meetings when required
∎ Train chief operator on how to monitor and ensure smooth and safe operation and maintenance activities of the facilities.
∎ Train engineers and workers on how to solve problems and defects that occur in the operation of cold storage facilities.
∎ Train engineers and workers on how to operate all main equipment of the cold storage facilities such as pumps, blowers, compressors, heaters and low-pressure flare etc.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Ensuring overhauling and replacing parts according to maintenance schedule.
∎ Applicants should have experience to complete the accidental repair efficiently and quickly.
∎ Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
∎ Enough knowledge to maintain heavy machinery and hydrolic engines.
Salary:
∎ Negotiable
∎ Depending on length of experience, field of expertise, industry exposure, market value of skill sets acquired, company may offer higher compensation package than indicated above to acquire candidate`s services for full-time employment.
