Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Overseeing Utility Operations: Manage and supervise the utility department, ensuring smooth operations of utilities such as power, water, steam, and compressed air necessary for production processes.
∎ Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop maintenance plans for utility equipment and infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted supply. Coordinate with maintenance teams to execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
∎ Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources including manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize utility operations while minimizing downtime and costs.
∎ Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards. Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
∎ Budget Management: Prepare and manage the utility department budget, including forecasting expenses, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures.
∎ Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Address utility-related issues promptly and effectively. Troubleshoot problems with utility systems and equipment to minimize production disruptions.
∎ Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in utility operations and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
∎ Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for procurement of utility-related equipment, spare parts, and services.
∎ Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for utility department staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in utility operations and maintenance.
∎ Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of utility consumption, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation. Prepare regular reports for management on utility performance, expenses, and compliance status.
