Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop and maintain an efficient distribution network to ensure timely delivery of products
∎ Evaluate and optimize the distribution network to improve cost-effectiveness and minimize delivery times.
∎ Coordinate with transportation providers, warehouses, and distribution centers to ensure logistics operations
∎ Negotiate contracts with transportation vendors to secure favorable rates and terms
∎ Monitor transportation schedules and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
∎ Oversee inventory levels at warehouses and distribution centers to prevent stock outs and minimize excess inventory
∎ Implement inventory management systems and processes to optimize inventory turnover and reduce costs
∎ Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations throughout the distribution process
∎ Implement quality control measures to prevent damage or loss during transportation and storage
∎ Lead and motivate a team of professionals to achieve departmental goals
∎ Provide training opportunities to enhance team members' skills and capabilities
∎ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to distribution and logistics operations
∎ Prepare reports on performance metrics and provide insights for improvement
