Job Responsibilities:
∎ This is a challenging position reporting to the Executive Director (Technical). The major responsibilities are-
∎ Basic Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Manager-Furnace and BH will have sound practical knowledge regarding gas & diesel fuel fired regenerative side / under port Furnace operation with and without Boosters. Knowledge of fully automatic / Microprocessor based temperature & other parameter control systems of Furnaces essential.
∎ Must have very clear knowledge regarding refractory materials used in the construction of Furnaces, working end & Forehearths and their interaction with amber & flint glass production of the Company at an optimum energy consumption/Tons of glass melting.
∎ Must be experienced in trouble shooting of various operation & maintenance problems of the Furnaces, have experience in cold, hot repairs, regenerator decongestion, including construction of new Furnaces, be able to check refractory materials offered by designers, carryout pre-shipment inspection of Furnace refractory and practical supervision of refractory construction, glass draining to empty furnaces before cool down, heat up/cool down and cullet feeding experience for new built furnaces are essential.
∎ Must have knowledge to optimize furnace operation with respect to draw changes and maintain glass quality.
∎ Must have knowledge of taking all actions on Furnace & FH (gas fired) in case of color changes from amber to Flint & vice versa, with acceptable seed count /oz.
∎ Furnace & BH Manager also looks after all annealing Lehrs and ensure optimum energy consumption in the annealing process.
∎ Be able to read CAD drawings, ordering spare parts of Furnace equipment & have basic knowledge of Microsoft office package.
∎ Candidate must have in depth knowledge of Raw material, cullet types and glass batch for glass bulb shell, pharmaceutical, beverage bottles, Tableware of different types and be able to formulate batch composition under changing situation of availability / quality of raw materials at different cullet % and acceptable seed count per oz, lower specific energy and implement that without having any effect on production. Must be able to successfully change color of glass in Furnace amber to flint and vice versa as & when required.
∎ Knowledge of supervising a complete batch plant (both manual & fully automatic) and material handling is essential.
∎ Periodic/Occasional duties:
∎ Perform the work specified/ instructed by the Management from time to time
∎ Goal setting of assigned Depts, monitor progress and performance evaluation of the employees periodically.
∎ Any other job as may be assigned relating to the Depts as may be needed from time to time.
∎ Must be aware of / worked in issues of environment control system, Fire & safety hazard and compliance with ISO, FSSC, GMP standards.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 40 to 45 years
∎ At least 20 years of experience of which 10 years must have in the floor level, 10 years as Manager.
∎ Having Proficiency in communicative English and MS Office applications. Should also have excellent Interpersonal skills.
∎ Training: Trained in Continuous Process Manufacturing.
∎ Age Limit:40-45. years; but it may be flexible to the Management considering the overall competencies and experiences.
