Job Context:
∎ A Renowned Shipping & Logistics Company is looking for the post of Manager/Assistant Manager - Feeder Operation to lead and coach a winning, effective and sustainable Feeder Operation and SOC Sales Team as well the Company.
∎ It is a very challenging and rewarding role as you will coach and manage a professional Feeder Operation and SOC Sales team. This will equip you with further management competencies and a track record for future career development within a Renowned Shipping & Logistics Company.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Involvement in the day to day operations of the ship including vessel inward/outward operation monitoring, navigational safety, cargo booking, real time loading & Discharging activities, close contact with berth operator to ensure maximum loading against vessel nominal capacity, communicate with Port official and port pilot regarding vessel berthing and sailing as per schedule.
∎ Maintaining safety standards and procedures as well as environmental management. Responsible may also be required to act as a member of an Emergency response team.
∎ Involvement in the analysis, Critical thinking and monitoring of operational data to ensure potential problems are prevented. Providing guidance to Masters, Operation and Logistics team and general management on any special requirements.
∎ May also require to attending meetings or sit on committees established within the Maritime industry to represent the company.
∎ Closely monitoring/assisting the SOC sales teams in meeting the set target implemented by the Principals i.e. Conducting intensive Market Analysis with complete Outbound/Inbound accountability to the Principal's.
∎ Have regularly monitored competition activities by regularly abstracting information from the port in regards number of inventories loaded for various trade lanes and according taking persuasive action in consultation with senior.
∎ Make joint SOC sales calls with sales executives to ensure selling skills and techniques are mastered.
∎ Coach, lead and develop direct reports and others, work closely with teams and individuals to identify and improve competency gaps and devise objectives and personal development plans.
∎ Attract and retain the right talents inside and outside of the organization.
∎ Be on the lookout for any new project development on the market and set proper targeting strategy with the entire team.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 02 (Two) year(s) in similar Job Area.
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
∎ Shipping Agency, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Stevedoring and Lighter vessel management Company.
∎ Active communication with vessel, terminal, pilot, tug and supplier.
∎ You must have excellent IT skills and be familiar with industry standard software together with good Microsoft Office skills.
∎ Extensive knowledge and understanding vessels operation, monitoring of operational performance and financial insights.
∎ Strong knowledge of the local market, Port-Customs as well as industry trends.
∎ Self-driven, results-oriented with a proven track record in sales and leadership and ability to work under pressure.
∎ Master negotiator; strong networking skills.
∎ An inspirational leader with excellent coaching and people skills.
∎ Fluent communication skills in written and spoken English and Bengali.
