Educational Requirements:
∎ Honors and MA degrees in a related subject from a recognized university
∎ At least 3 (three) First Divisions/Classes/A Grades from SSC to the Master's level.
∎ Candidates with a PhD/MPhil degree in Islamic Studies from a recognized university will be given high preference.
∎ Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in research within the field of Islamic Studies related areas.
∎ Candidates with a 3rd Class/Division or GPA/CGPA below 3.00 in any public examination need not apply.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Delivering lectures, leading discussions, and conducting tutorials for undergraduate and graduate students in Islamic Studies. This involves creating course materials, syllabi and assessments.
∎ Participating in the development and revision of the Islamic Studies curriculum, including the creation of new courses and updating existing ones to align with academic standards and current knowledge.
∎ Engaging in research and scholarly activities in the field of Islamic Studies, including conducting research projects, publishing articles in reputable journals and presenting findings at conferences.
∎ Providing academic and career guidance to students, helping them set academic goals, advising on course selection and assisting with career planning.
∎ Building partnerships with local religious and community organizations to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Islamic Studies department and create opportunities for student involvement.
∎ Actively participating in departmental and university service activities, such as serving on committees, attending meetings and contributing to the overall functioning of the department and university.
∎ Upholding academic, ethical standards and ensuring the compliance of the department and its students with university policies and procedures.
∎ Assisting in administrative tasks related to student recruitment and retention, budget management and accreditation-related activities.
∎ Continuously assessing and evaluating student performance to ensure the quality of education provided in the Islamic Studies program.
∎ Assist in the administration of the Department, such as student recruitment and retention, budget management and accreditation-related activities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 20 years
∎ The candidate should have a strong command of computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
