Educational Requirements:
∎ 4 years Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in textile engineering or textile technology with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent First Class);
∎ Combined minimum GPA of 9.5 on the scale of 5.0 + 5.0 in SSC & HSC or its equivalent.
∎ A minimum of 2 years' experience of the following:
∎ Active teaching experience in a recognized university in relevant discipline (e.g., social responsibility, corporate social responsibility, compliance, environmental science, industrial production engineering, chemical management),
∎ or
∎ A Master's degree (M.Sc. Engg. /M. Engg./M.Sc. degree or its equivalent) in textile engineering, sustainability management, environmental science, corporate social responsibility, engineering management, climate management, or relevant field from a recognized University
∎ or
∎ Industrial expertise on social responsibility, corporate social responsibility, compliance, environmental science, industrial production engineering, chemical management

Job Context:
∎ We are looking for 3 new Lecturers for "The Chair for Sustainability and Textile Innovation".
∎ As the Lecturer of Sustainability and Textile Innovation (will be hired in the rank of Lecturer in the Department of Textile Engineering of AUST), you will be expected to gain extensive knowledge in the field of social responsibility, environmental protection, and technical innovation in the production of the textile and garment industry. You will have a strong focus in the area of social, ecological and economic sustainability with the ultimate aim of supporting to setup the Chair for Sustainability and Textile Innovation at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
∎ The successful candidate will complete theoretical and practical courses for further qualifications for a period of 2 to 4 months in Bangladesh and remotely with experts from Germany and Bangladesh. These trainings are specifically tailored training sessions with selected experts in the areas of didactics and knowledge development. Parallelly to the completion of the training phase, they will have the role of lecturer at AUST under the Department of Textile Engineering (mentored by AUST faculty members) and contribute to the development of the curricula for new study modules (Interest area A: Resource Nexus, Technology and Society; Interest area B: Special Instruments for Sustainability Transition; Interest area C: Sustainability Assessment) in context of the textile industry. The incumbent will work in a highly engaging environment at the interface between economics, society and ecology. Besides, there will be opportunities to participate in the transfer of knowledge into company practice and receive intensive supervision during the training sessions.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge of the textile industry and/or its social, ecological and economic challenges.
∎ Experience and extensive knowledge using Microsoft Office or similar software is required;
∎ Interest to adapt modern (online) teaching skills and methods as well as curriculum development;
∎ Interest in pursuing an academic career and being a long-term Faculty member of the Department of Textile Engineering at AUST in Dhaka and to support setting up the Chair for Sustainability and Textile Innovation;
∎ Willingness to travel both nationally (within Bangladesh) and internationally (possession of international travel documents e.g., passport is an advantage);
∎ Interest in supporting the management and implementation of international research and knowledge exchange projects;
∎ Fluency in English both in written and oral communication (valid IELTS test result is an advantage).
∎ Desirable:
∎ Knowledge of the specific topics like textile life cycle, social responsibility and productivity / quality, climate change, energy efficiency is an advantage
∎ Major from Wet Processing Technology/ Apparel Manufacturing Technology/ Fabric Manufacturing Technology is an advantage
∎ Ability to work independently and flexibly;
∎ Ability to speak German is an advantage;
∎ Work experience in sustainability and education related projects is an advantage;
∎ Experience in online teaching and/or Learning Management system-based online teaching is an advantage;
∎ Willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary teamwork;
∎ Strong analytical reasoning skills.

Salary:
