Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Analyzing samples: Testing and analyzing samples such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids.
∎ Operating equipment: Using and maintaining laboratory equipment, including microscopes, automated cell counters, and other sophisticated equipment.
∎ Recording data: Recording data from tests and entering results into patient records.
∎ Communicating results: Discussing results with physicians and other medical professionals.
∎ Maintaining a clean environment: Keeping the lab clean, organized, and safe.
∎ Following safety guidelines: Practicing safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
∎ Establishing procedures: Establishing procedures for analyzing specimens and conducting experiments.
∎ Conducting quality control: Assessing the quality of testing techniques.
∎ Supervising and training: Supervising and training other laboratory staff, students, and helpers.
∎ Assisting with autopsies: Assisting pathologists during autopsies
