Job Description / Responsibility

1. Surveillance and Monitoring:

• Conduct regular infection surveillance activities.

• Track and analyze infection rates and trends within the facility.

• Report findings to relevant healthcare teams and authorities.

2. Infection Prevention and Control Programs:

• Develop, implement, and maintain infection control policies and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate infection risks.

3. Education and Training:

• Provide ongoing education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices.

• Develop educational materials and resources.

• Conduct orientation programs for new staff members.

4. Outbreak Investigation and Management:

• Lead investigations into infection outbreaks.

• Coordinate response plans and implement control measures.

• Communicate with public health officials as necessary.

5. Policy Development and Implementation:

• Develop and update infection control policies based on the latest guidelines and research.

• Ensure policies are effectively communicated and implemented across the facility.

6. Compliance and Audits:

• Conduct regular audits of infection control practices.

• Ensure compliance with standards set by accrediting bodies.

• Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections.

7. Consultation and Collaboration:

• Act as a resource for infection control-related issues.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve infection control practices.

• Participate in interdisciplinary committees and quality improvement initiatives.
