Job Responsibilities:
∎ Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and complaints.
∎ Attending departmental team meeting as and when required.
∎ Handling the operation alone on weekends on Housekeeper absence.
∎ Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to standards of cleanliness.
∎ Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
∎ Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others.
∎ Arrival list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-out and occupied rooms to prepare work assignments.
∎ Reporting the maintenance and making sure it is done in time.
∎ Report any damage on machinery to housekeeper.
∎ Check the room attendant trolley to ensure that it is well stocked with linen and supplies.
∎ Check turn down service if in the evening shift.
∎ Checking turndown service as per the turndown check list.
∎ Prepares reports concerning room occupancy and DND checklist.
∎ Reporting 2 consecutive days DND to duty manager or housekeeper.
∎ Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
∎ Maintains hotel standard and the “one and only way” cleaning procedures
∎ Double check on the room checklist before making the room available for sale.
∎ If in public area checking all the guest rest rooms, lobby restaurant, coffee shop, meeting rooms and outlets cleaning.
∎ Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
∎ Performing special cleaning such as carpet shampooing, scrubbing the floor etc.
∎ Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions and time cards and prepares periodic reports.
∎ Record all lost and found items as per regulation.
∎ Screens job applicants, hires new employees and recommends promotion, transfers, and dismissals.
∎ Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
∎ Providing information to co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
∎ Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
∎ Inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
∎ Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.
∎ Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
∎ Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment.
∎ Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize organize and accomplish your work.
∎ Inventories linen stock and guest supplies for ensure smooth operation.
∎ Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
∎ Handling guests complaints and make sure that will not repeat next time.
∎ Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
∎ Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining Documenting information in written or electronic form.
∎ Identifying the developmental needs of staff and coaching, mentoring, or helping staff to improve their maximum productivity, standard of efficiency and knowledge or skills.
∎ Maintains staff personal hygiene and grooming.
∎ Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
