As we continue to expand our capabilities, we are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Head of Research & Development (R&D) to lead our innovation strategy and drive the next phase of growth.
Position Summary
The Head of Research & Development will be responsible for leading the company's innovation ecosystem, new product development initiatives, process improvements, denim research programs, and technological advancements. The role requires a strategic leader capable of transforming market insights, customer requirements, and emerging technologies into commercially successful denim products and manufacturing solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in denim research, textile engineering, fabric innovation, indigo dyeing & finishing technologies, and industrial process development within a large-scale denim manufacturing environment.
Educational Requirements:
Must possess one or more of the following qualifications from a reputed university:
Master's Degree in Textile Engineering & Technology.
MBA or Master's in Innovation Management / Industrial Engineering (Added Advantage)
PhD in Textile Engineering, Fiber Science, Advanced Materials, or related field (Highly Preferred)
Graduates from internationally recognized institute such as BUTEX, BUET, CUET, KUET, RUET, AUST, MBSTU.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Denim Research & Development.
Proven track record in developing innovative denim fabrics and commercializing new technologies.
Hands-on experience in spinning, rope/slasher dyeing, weaving, finishing, and sustainable garment washing technologies.
Experience working with international buyers, global fashion brands, and textile certification requirements.
Strong understanding of sustainable denim innovations (e.g., water-saving dyeing, recycled cotton) and modern manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Innovation & Denim Product Development: Lead all R&D activities across fiber blending, yarn slub design, indigo dyeing, weaving, and finishing. Develop innovative, value-added, and sustainable denim fabrics for local and international markets. Drive commercialization of new fabrics from concept to mass production.
Process & Technology Development: Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies (Industry 4.0). Improve production efficiency, shade consistency, and cost optimization through innovation. Collaborate with production teams to solve technical challenges in rope/slasher dyeing and weaving.
Research & Technical Excellence: Conduct research on new sustainable fibers, eco-friendly chemicals, and indigo dyeing/finishing technologies. Establish testing protocols and performance benchmarks for new denim fabric developments. Lead pilot projects, trials, and experimental programs.
Sustainability & Compliance: Develop environmentally responsible denim solutions focusing on water, energy, and chemical reduction (e.g., eco-indigo). Support compliance with international standards and customer sustainability requirements.
Customer & Market Collaboration: Engage with global buyers and brands to understand future denim trends. Present innovative fabric collections to customers and strategic partners. Translate market intelligence into commercially viable products.
Leadership & Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing R&D team. Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement. Establish KPIs and performance measurement systems for R&D activities.
