Job Context:
∎ Report to: Additional Managing Director
∎ Position Summary :
∎ The Head of Engineering or Chief Engineer position is key technical person for planning and construction operation of the company. He is responsible for the entire engineering department, from approving project designs and assigning engineers and technicians to ensuring that all safety and structural standards are met throughout the completion of each project. He has to play the key role in a wide range of fields, overseeing the engineering and technicians as they develop designs, approximate costs, and execute their plans with highly technical skills and in accordance with regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinates the engineering team, assigning short and long term goals for successful completion of the project's plans.
∎ Supervising every phase of the project from start to completion.
∎ Evaluates all costs associated with each project including materials, costs of labor, and time expended.
∎ Finalise plans and budgets of each project for approvals.
∎ Delegating tasks to engineering teams.
∎ Performing quality control checks of all construction, plumbing, carpentry, electrical engineering works.
∎ Ensures safety of the worksite during the course of development.
∎ Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with an attention to maintaining safety standards.
∎ Analyzing data and drafting reports for review.
∎ Makes sure all projects and undertakings stay on budget and within the projected time schedule.
∎ Allocates resources effectively including personnel, materials, and time.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 40 to 50 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Knowledge of principles of engineering and engineering design experience.
∎ Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills with an obsessive attention to detail.
∎ Must be able to collaborate and bridge the communications gap between the engineering team, service technicians, business authority, and clients, interfacing with each.
∎ Must have superior budgeting and cost management abilities, assessing estimated costs early in the project and bringing the actual costs in line.
∎ Must be able to draft clear and comprehensive reports on the statistical efficacy of projects, the use and allocation of resources, and the quality of each finished project.
∎ Ability to draft, reviews, and evaluate engineering blueprints.
∎ Must possess technical acumen and the ability to troubleshoot on a variety of projects.
∎ Computer literacy is mandatory.
∎ Hard worker, willing to work under pressure.
∎ Positive attitude and good communication skills
∎ Good judgement and decision-making skills
