Job Context:
∎ The Head of Procurement ensures the quality and efficiency of procurement operations and ensures accountability throughout the procurement. The Head of Procurement is responsible to serve as the focal point for procurement operations. It is the responsibility of the Head of Procurement to ensure performance meets the Company’s strategy, requirements and policies.
∎ The Head of Procurement works closely with all users’ departments to ensure the supply chain operations operates effectively and efficiently to bring excellent service, and low cost and/or best value. The Head of Procurement is responsible to provide thought leadership and strategic direction on supply chain best practices and to share them with team.
∎ Additionally, the Head of Procurement is expected to provide direction and support for continuous improvement efforts, while upholding the Company’s Quality standards. As a member of the management team, the Head of Procurement directly supervises the procurement team members.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To ensure that bti gets the highest quality of desired goods and services at the best prices in a timely manner.
∎ To ensure that procurement activities are being undertaken in a manner that ensures all potential suppliers have been fairly treated and given an equal opportunity to make a bid.
∎ To ensure that procurement activities are being conducted with integrity and transparency and protect bti and its staff from claims of maladministration, and reduce the risk of fraud, corruption, waste or other irregularities.
∎ To contribute to bti’s market intelligence on supply chain.
∎ To ensure that a list of suitable vendors (the list of pre-qualified vendors), for each type of goods and services is maintained. The vendor list shall be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure that current known factors are taken into consideration.
∎ To oversee and work towards improvement of suppliers’ performance.
∎ To ensure operations’ staff use high quality communications with all vendors, suppliers and contractors.
∎ Proactively lead and empower the supply chain team members to encourage operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
∎ Ensure on time delivery of materials by best competitive price comply with best quality in the category.
∎ Identify market behavior, threats & opportunities, competitors' strategy and customer trends to review procurement strategy.
∎ Import of building materials from different country as much as possible especially finishing materials.
∎ Regular monitoring of price negotiation, terms & conditions and others issues with suppliers.
∎ Develop & improve strategy for procure quality materials with best competitive price.
∎ Ensure capable suppliers sourcing, identifying and recruitment.
∎ Ensure cross checking of materials rate from real market source & other companies.
∎ Forecasting of crisis materials and finding probable solution.
∎ Ensure periodical suppliers awareness about quality and in time delivery of materials and morality.
∎ Ensure materials C.S./P.L. efficiently with best competitive price.
∎ Arrange co-ordination meetings with other departments as and when required.
∎ Ensure effective implementation of ISO procedure.
∎ Arrange training session with team members to enhance their practical knowledge, skill & efficiency.
∎ Ensure company policies in every stage.
∎ Any other job given by management as and when required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 40 years
∎ 22 years of experience in supply chain out of which 15 years in real estate sector is a must.
∎ Expertise in real estate related procurement.
∎ Expertise in materials sourcing and import including L.C, commercial and port related issues.
∎ Strong leadership and proven ability to recruit, direct, train, and manage teams of personnel.
∎ Strong negotiation skills.
∎ The incumbent should be dynamic, hard working, well organized, self driven, have good personality and possess leadership quality.
Salary: Negotiable
