Job Context:
∎ As a Driver, you will responsible for support program implementation and day-to-day vehicle/transport needs of staff and goods for the office. You must abide by all national and local laws and have legal right to drive in all locations of assigned work. All actions will be done with strict adherence to RI policy and procedures with an aim to provide safe and secure movements for RI teams and client. You will get more detail orientation from Hostel Assistant.
∎ Reporting to: Hostel Assistant
∎ Department: Protection
∎ Expected Start Date: January 1, 2020.
∎ Contract length: Up to December 31, 2020.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Transport (drive) staff, customer and goods to the assignment destination
∎ Ensure adherence to all RI policy and procedure related to vehicle movement which includes but is not limited to:
∎ All staff and passengers wear seat belts at all times
∎ Drive at the speed limit at all times
∎ Never speak on the phone while driving
∎ Stay alert and never drive under the influence or when feeling unfit.
∎ Report immediately any incident, which involves the vehicle and/or any of its passengers.
∎ Maintain the vehicles in working condition and provide thorough maintenance checks regularly. Perform daily and weekly checks of vehicle (oil, tires, fuel, etc.)
∎ Ensure accurate and up to date recording of all vehicle movements and have staff verify with signature being transported
∎ Ensure the vehicle is kept clean inside and outside with regular washing and removal of trash
∎ Report any misuse of vehicle or fraudulent behavior related to use and maintenance of vehicle (i.e. fuel consumption, drinking, unauthorized trips, etc.)
∎ Serve as safe escape route for staff if a situation gets unmanageable at location.
∎ Ensure vehicle registration and other official documentation is up to date
∎ Ensure fuel in vehicle is always more than half tank
∎ Adhere to RI building conduct policies
∎ Be responsible stewards of RI property
∎ Maintain confidentiality, privacy and security of staff and customer information at all times
∎ Ensure recognized international best practices and Relief International key policies and Code of Conduct.
∎ Carry out other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

∎ "RI has zero tolerance for the use of alcohol when operating an RI hired or owned vehicle. If a driver has been found to have consumed any alcohol prior to operating a vehicle or is found to have alcohol within the vehicle they will be immediately dismissed from their position."

∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Valid driving license with 5-6 years of experience as Driver.
∎ Demonstrate warmth, kind and caring personality

∎ Cultural awareness and sensitivity
∎ Enthusiasm to learn
∎ No criminal record, clean driving record, no outstanding traffic violations or tickets
∎ Good vision
∎ Able and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment;
∎ Intermediate level of English and ability to communicate and to draft notes;
∎ Previous professional experience with INGOs and defensive driving course certificate is an asset.
∎ Experience with logistics tasks ( visa, permits, communication equipment) could be an assets;
∎ Use of standard office equipment; computer skills is an asset
∎

Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Mobile bill, Medical allowance, Weekly 2 holidays, Insurance
∎ Salary Review: Yearly
∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one basic salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly basic salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary.
