Job Context:
∎ Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy General Manager of Distribution to oversee the distribution operations of our pharmaceuticals factory. The Deputy General Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the distribution process, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of pharmaceutical products while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Distribution Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive distribution strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine optimal distribution channels, inventory levels, and transportation methods
∎ Distribution Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day distribution operations, including order processing, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation. Ensure efficient coordination between the distribution team and other departments to meet customer demands and minimize lead times
∎ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and other applicable guidelines enforced by regulatory agencies such as the UKMHRA or USFDA
∎ Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to the distribution team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance objectives, coach and develop team members, and conduct regular performance evaluations
∎ Inventory Management: Develop and implement robust inventory management systems and processes to optimize stock levels, minimize product expiry, and reduce inventory carrying costs. Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure accurate forecasting and replenishment of inventory
∎ Quality Assurance: Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure compliance with quality standards and product integrity throughout the distribution process. Implement appropriate quality control measures, perform regular audits, and address any non-compliance issues
∎ Transportation and Logistics: Oversee transportation activities, including the selection and management of third-party logistics providers (3PLs). Ensure the availability of appropriate transportation modes, optimize routes, and track shipment progress to ensure on-time and cost-effective deliveries
∎ Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of distribution operations. Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting performance trends, areas for improvement, and recommendations for operational enhancements
∎ Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and service improvement within the distribution function. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
∎ Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, production, and regulatory teams, to align distribution activities with business goals and customer requirements. Build strong relationships with external partners, such as suppliers, distributors, and customers, to ensure smooth collaboration and customer satisfaction
Additional Requirements:
∎ Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in distribution management within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a regulated environment.
∎ In-depth knowledge of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and other relevant regulations enforced by regulatory agencies such as the UKMHRA or USFDA
∎ Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing distribution teams and achieving operational targets
∎ Strong understanding of distribution and logistics processes, including inventory management, transportation, and warehouse operations
∎ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to develop and implement innovative solutions
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
∎ Proficient in using supply chain management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
∎ Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and regulatory compliance
