Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Source grain crops (e.g., corn, soybeans, paddy, mustard seeds) based on company demand and market availability.
∎ Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to meet quality, price, and delivery requirements.
∎ Execute spot purchases through direct interactions with marginal farmers and local suppliers, negotiating prices and contract terms.
∎ Monitor market trends, supply availability, price fluctuations, seasonal impacts, and local demand for timely purchases.
∎ Analyze and report daily, weekly, and monthly market trends to support strategic sourcing decisions.
∎ Inspect grain crops at the point of purchase to ensure they meet company quality standards.
∎ Collaborate with quality assurance teams and purchase officers to resolve any quality issues upon arrival.
∎ Build and maintain relationships with farmers, local traders, and suppliers to secure reliable sources of grain.
∎ Engage with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial terms and ensure supply continuity.
∎ Coordinate with the transportation team to ensure timely delivery of grain crops to designated locations.
∎ Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, stock levels, and delivery timelines.
∎ Achieve favorable pricing without compromising quality by leveraging market insights.
∎ Manage budgets for spot purchases, ensuring transparency and adherence to financial controls.
∎ Ensure adherence to regulatory standards for crop purchasing and related documentation.
∎ Maintain records of transactions, agreements, and supplier evaluations for internal and regulatory audits.
