About the Role
Genius Farms Limited is looking for a smart, curious, and research-oriented Business Development Intern to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching online, writing in English, exploring new business opportunities, and working with AI tools.
A major part of your work will be finding grants, competitions, funding programs, and other opportunities that Genius Farms Limited can apply for.
You will also support the team with business research, e-commerce ideas, software sales, meetings, and presentations.
What You Will Do
Research Grants & Opportunities
This will be the main focus of your role.
You will regularly search for:
* Grants and funding opportunities
* AgriTech and agriculture programs
* Startup and SME competitions
* Innovation challenges
* Accelerator and incubation programs
* Women-founded business/startup opportunities
* Awards and other relevant programs
You will keep track of deadlines, requirements, and application details.
Prepare Applications
Once we identify a good opportunity, you will help prepare the application.
Most of the company information is already available. Your job will be to:
* Read and understand application requirements
* Find the required information from our existing documents
* Prepare and organize application answers
* Write or improve content when necessary
* Use AI tools to assist with research and writing
* Keep track of submitted and upcoming applications
Help Us Find Ways to Grow
You will learn about Genius Farms Limited’s businesses and help us think of ways to:
* Reach more customers
* Increase sales
* Find new business opportunities
* Identify potential partnerships
* Research competitors and market trends
We want someone who is comfortable bringing new ideas to the table.
Support E-Commerce Growth
As we expand into e-commerce, you may help:
* Research competitors
* Identify potential customers and vendors
* Suggest promotional and sales ideas
* Research ways to grow our online business
Support Software Sales
We have several existing software solutions that we want to introduce to potential customers.
You may occasionally:
* Research potential clients
* Find relevant businesses and organizations
* Reach out through email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or other online channels
* Follow up with interested leads
Meetings & Presentations
You may also:
* Attend meetings and business programs
* Take notes and prepare meeting summaries
* Help prepare presentations
* Occasionally present or speak about the company
* Communicate with partners and other stakeholders
Who Can Apply?
You can apply if you:
* Have completed at least 2 years of university, OR
* Are a fresh graduate
Students and graduates from Business, Marketing, Economics, Development Studies, International Relations, Public Administration, Agriculture, English, or similar backgrounds are welcome.
Your subject is not the most important thing — your ability to research, write, communicate, and learn matters more.
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
* Very good written English
* Good spoken English
* Strong online research skills
* Good writing and communication skills
* Confidence using AI tools such as ChatGPT
* Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
* Attention to detail
* Good organizational skills
* Confidence to communicate with different people
* Willingness to learn and take initiative
Previous job experience is not required.
Internship Details
Duration: 3 Months
If you perform well during the internship, there may be an opportunity to join Genius Farms Limited as a full-time entry-level employee after completing the internship.
