PRF`s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professional. Projahnmo Research Foundation is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Breastfeeding counsellor (Female) for a multi country community-based research study.
∎ Duty station: Zakiganj Upazila of Sylhet District
∎ The appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 1 year but may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Counsel pregnant and postpartum women at home on breastfeeding of her child, including influential family members
∎ Counsel and support mothers and infants with difficulties in breastfeeding
∎ Provide counseling and support to
∎ Mothers of preterm/low birth weight infants
∎ Mothers of infant with slow growth and growth concern
∎ Supervise Peer-counsellors and support them for counseling of mothers including joint visits at field
∎ Refer infants according to approved research protocol and guideline
∎ Liaise with other PRF project staff
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Willing to work in a community setting in Zakiganj Upazila of Sylhet District
∎ Able to communicate in local language.
∎ Should be able to work with a team.
∎ Should be able to communicate effectively in the local language/dialect
∎ Must have innovative thinking skills
∎ Should have a drive to identify, learn and solve problems
∎ Should have a positive and supportive attitude
∎ Able to learn and share relevant information about infant feeding and care with pregnant and lactating mothers and their families
∎ Able to assess feeding behavior and status of study participants (after training)
∎ Able to identify feeding problems and help mothers to overcome them/ refer to supervisor
∎ Candidates who have received breastfeeding training and/or have work experience in breast feeding counseling for pregnant women and women with young children
∎ Motivated to help mothers to care for and feed their young infants appropriately
Salary:
∎ 22,852/- per month including house rent and conveyance allowance and other admissible benefits.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 12% retirement fund contribution by PRF will be given as per organizational policy.
