Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Responsible for the import procurement process, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
∎ Identify and develop relationships with reliable international & local suppliers.
∎ Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best deals.
∎ Coordinate with suppliers, shipping companies, and customs brokers to ensure smooth import operations.
∎ Oversee shipments, track orders, and manage logistics to ensure the timely delivery of goods.
∎ Resolve any issues or delays in the supply chain process.
∎ Maintain optimal inventory levels by forecasting demand and placing timely orders.
∎ Oversee stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to manage inventory efficiently.
∎ Ensure compliance with all import regulations and documentation requirements.
∎ Prepare and review documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.
∎ Liaise with customs authorities to ensure the smooth clearance of goods.
∎ Monitor and control import costs, including freight, duties, and taxes.
∎ Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
∎ Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
∎ Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed procurement decisions
