∎ Key Duties and Responsibilities:-
∎ Laboratory Testing: Perform routine and complex microbiological tests, including bacteriology, virology, and mycology, on clinical samples.
∎ Sample Analysis: Analyze specimens to identify microorganisms, assess their pathogenic potential, and determine antibiotic sensitivities.
∎ Result Interpretation: Provide accurate reports to clinicians for the diagnosis and treatment of infections.
∎ Quality Control: Ensure test accuracy through stringent quality control procedures and participation in quality assurance programs.
∎ Infection Control: Monitor antimicrobial resistance, investigate outbreaks, and implement preventive measures.
∎ Research: Conduct research on microorganisms and develop new diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
∎ Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to develop and implement infection control protocols.
