Job Responsibilities:
∎ To assist in shift operation of the power plant.
∎ Accountable to the concern Shift Engineer for proper discharge of the assigned duties.
∎ Keep informing the Control Room Shift Engineer for any abnormality and corrective measures taken by yourself or whether to be done by the Shift Engineer or whether Maintenance Engineer's presence is required to attend the problem.
∎ Replenish/top up the lube oil, coolant, Hydraulic Oil and Feed Water to the system as and when necessary.
∎ Take readings of all the gauges and parameters at a prescribed intervals and record in the respective Log Books.
∎ Take rounds to the Substations, Fuel Tank Yard, Fuel Treatment Plant, WTP, Boilers etc. where ever is the place of duty for visual inspection and recording of necessary parameters.
∎ To keep sharp watch on the levels of all the LT & HT water Tanks, HFO & LFO Tanks, and report to the Control Room of the levels. You should also be fully conversant of all the Valves and systems of the Sludge tank and Oily Water Tank.
∎ To write all the relevant events of the shift in the Shift Log Book including any pending actions to be taken in the next shift.
∎ Ensure proper Handing/Taking over of the duties among the senior operators of the relieving and the next shift.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 33 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Must have knowledge & experience of working in steam turbine /HFO fired steam co-generation power plant.
∎ Familiar with working principle of auxiliary equipment feed water pump, cooling tower, condenser and others involved.
∎ Must have good working knowledge about all the operation and controls system (electrical, mechanical & electro-mechanical), Electrical Distribution System, supervision of the running machinery (main & auxiliary).
∎ Must be fully conversant with the Single Line Diagram of the Plant's Power Generation & Evacuation System.
∎ Must be fully conversant with the P&ID of the following system relating to the Simple Cycle Operation
∎ Must be fully conversant with all the system valves, switches, emergency stops etc. of the main and auxiliary machinery, Boilers, Breakers etc. and to deal with the emergency situation of the running machinery.
∎ Candidate with minor maintenance and trouble-shooting skills will have preference.
∎ As an assistant shift engineer in a combined power plant, applicant will lead the secondary plant's operation; hence should have good job delegation and supervision skills.
∎ Having knowledge & training on Occupational health Safety & Environment management.
