Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and maintain a vibrant library environment with a diverse collection of books, online databases, resources, and other materials, representing the diversity of the teacher and student body and supporting the range of the educational programs.
∎ To select, acquire, purchase, organize, advise on, and promote learning resources in all formats that support the curriculum and learning and teaching in consultation with university management and other teaching staff.
∎ To index, catalog, and classify learning resources in the library resource center and develop and maintain accurate and reliable catalog and lending systems.
∎ To collaborate with teaching staff in the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of relevant learning and study skills programs in the library resource center.
∎ To encourage the use of the library resource center by the university community and to foster an environment conducive to positive learning experiences for service users. This will include ensuring a high standard of display and promotional material is available.
∎ To act as a responsible budget holder for the effective budgetary planning and management of LRC resources.
∎ performs other duties as required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven ability in a supervisory capacity to conduct and perform all the tasks and functions of a university library.
