Job Responsibilities:
∎ Preparing track alignment designs for complex track engineering projects and studies to repair, renew, reconfigure, and construct new track, turnouts and roadbeds.
∎ Conducts civil and track engineering design and constructability reviews of project-related track design submittals prepared by engineering consultants, other railroads and commuter agencies to ensure adherence with Amtrak and industry best practice design standards.
∎ Mentors' junior members of the track design team, including the Engineer Track Design, Management Associates, Co-ops and Interns.
∎ Provides technical assistance to other departments and consultants and makes engineering recommendations for consultants.
∎ Field inspections to investigate site conditions before making an engineering recommendation.
∎ Assist in topographic and track layout surveying work and perform other duties as assigned.
∎ Design of permanent way solutions for engineering projects in accordance with client requirements
∎ Provide project progress reports and updates to the Track Team Leader and Project Management Team.
∎ Document and report site activity ensuring regulations are met.
∎ Carry out audits and risk assessments when required.
∎ Supervise and set out surveys, installations, stressing and tamping activities.
∎ Ensure CRT site assessments are conducted.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 5 to 7 years experience for a B.sc in Civil Engineer.
∎ Minimum 8 to 12 years experience for a Diploma in Civil Engineer.
Salary: Negotiable
