Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. Related to Lab. Administration -
∎ Assist lab administration and any other duties assigned from time to time.
∎ Indent reagent in consultation with Senior Medical Technologist.
∎ Note breakage, losses in technical equipment’s and apparatus and be responsible for all the expensive reagents in the department.
∎ Keep store inventory and audit.
∎ 2. Related to Lab Work
∎ Receive patient’s sample.
∎ Inform the respective ward if any inpatient sample is insufficient, heamolyzed, improperly collected or transported rendering it unsuitable for the test and handle any problem arising from outpatient sample and inform HOD.
∎ Perform timely analysis, culture sensitivity and staining of samples and check if there is any pending work.
∎ Prepare, store and keep stock ledger of culture media.- Perform the serology tests and Quality control of the tests as per schedule.
∎ Supervise the lab cleaning and safe disposal of samples and other infectious materials generated in the Lab in proper containers according to color coding.
∎ Call the treating physician to inform critical value if any.- Should be responsible for maintenance of equipments in consultation with biomedical engineers.
∎ Assure maintenance of proper laboratory safety and sterility.
∎ Make sure of timely analysis of all samples and check for any pending work.
∎ Participate in training and educational programmes.
∎ Keep up a conducive work atmosphere.
∎ Performs all other tasks as required by the department
