Job Responsibilities:
∎ CT-Scan:
∎ The equipment power supply is switched on.
∎ Perform machine calibration and record to check list.
∎ In case of any faulty of machine inform to medical physicist / bio-medical engineer and record it in the break down logbook.
∎ Reconfirm the instructions given to the patient during appointment (e.g. fasting, earlier reports if any etc.)
∎ If there is any cancellation or delay, rebook and try to contact the patient immediately (walk in or on queue) by the appointment center.
∎ Use the technique and knowledge that will minimize radiation exposure to patients, the general public and health care personnel consistent with the ALARA (As Low As is Reasonably Achievable) concept.
∎ Inform patients to remove radio opaque material if any in the region of investigation.
∎ Inform conscious patient to give their valuables to their attendant (for out patient and IN patient).
∎ In case of unconscious patient the valuables are removed in presence of corresponding sister / attendant.
∎ Recheck patients consent paper, history, region of interest, protocol, and patient preparation etc. before starting the scan.
∎ Patient should position for the scan according to the region requested by the doctor / radiologist.
∎ Entry patients information like name, sex, part of scan etc. in the CT-Scan system.
∎ In case of plain study if radiologist asked for contrast, technologist will inform patient / patients attendant for the proper billing and for IN patient inform to ward sister to give input for contrast study.
∎ Contrast inject by the presence or permission of radiologist.
∎ During contrast inject by the pressure injector, check the peak level and also the patient.
∎ Before move out the patient from the gantry recheck scan and if needed show to radiologist for more instruction.
∎ After the scan is over, the patient is asked to change the dress and the time for collecting the report from dispatch counter is informed for out patient and for In patients he/she or patients attendant informs that the report will be dispatched at the ward.
∎ Post process images are documented and make ready film for reporting.
∎ Keep records of test done for the day, film / CD wastage for monthly inventory.
∎ Make sure that the images are sent on the PACS within 20 minutes after the procedure.
∎ MRI:
∎ The equipment power supply is switched on.
∎ In case of any faulty of machine inform to medical physicist / bio-medical engineer and record it in the break down logbook.
∎ Reconfirm the instructions given to the patient during appointment (e.g. fasting, earlier reports if any etc.)
∎ If there is any cancellation or delay, rebook and try to contact the patient immediately (walk in or on queue) by the appointment center.
∎ Confirm that patient is metal free and dress changed properly.
∎ Recheck patients consent paper specially check list, history, region of interest, protocol, and patient preparation etc. before starting the scan.
∎ Patient should position and proper coil apply for the scan according to the region requested by the doctor / radiologist.
∎ Calling bell should be keep patients hand & trains how / when to apply (if possible).
∎ Informed patient about procedure & study time.
∎ Entry patients information like name, sex, part of scan etc. in the MR system.
∎ In case of plain study if radiologist asked for contrast, technologist will inform patient / patients attendant for the proper billing and for IN patient inform to ward sister to give input for contrast study.
∎ Before moving out the patient from the gantry recheck scan and if needed, show to radiologist for more instruction.
∎ After the scan is over, the patient is asked to change the dress and the time for collecting the report from dispatch counter is informed for out patient and for In patients he/she or patients attendant informs that the report will be dispatched at the ward.
∎ Accurate / post process images are documented and make ready film for reporting.
∎ Keep records of test done for the day, film / CD wastage for monthly inventory.
∎ Make sure that the images are sent on the PACS within 20 minutes after the procedure.
∎ For sedation patient all the equipments / accessories will be ready before starting the study.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 30 years
∎ 01-02 years experience in relevant area
