∎ Age 25 to 38 years
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Should have knowledge about BNBC standard and NIRAPON.
∎ Strong grasp of mathematics, physics, mechanics, and materials science as applied to civil engineering.
∎ Proficiency in structural analysis techniques such as statics, dynamics, and finite element analysis (FEA) to determine the behavior of structures under different loads.
∎ Familiarity with local and international building codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocodes) that govern the design and construction of structures.
∎ Ability to design structural elements (beams, columns, slabs, foundations) using appropriate materials (concrete, steel, timber) based on structural requirements and safety considerations.
∎ Knowledge of properties, behavior, and specifications of construction materials (concrete, steel, masonry, timber) and their applications in structural design.
∎ Understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles to design suitable foundations for structures.
∎ Awareness of construction methods and practices, including site preparation, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement.
∎ Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS) for modeling, analysis, and design of structures.
∎ Ability to assess risks associated with structural failures, natural disasters, and environmental factors, and implement safety measures in design and construction.
∎ Basic knowledge of project management principles to coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
∎ Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, present designs and reports, and interact with clients and regulatory authorities.
∎ Commitment to staying updated with advances in structural engineering practices, technologies, and materials.
