Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Performing all nursing duties to the requisite standard;
∎ Maintain OT room & all related activities by following Consultant Instruction;
∎ Maintaining, updating and filing all medical and nursing documents and records (including treatment plans, case notes, patient forms etc.) in hard copy and electronic forms;
∎ Ensuring that all medical and therapeutic equipment, devices and apparatus are functioning properly;
∎ Ensure compliance with health and safety, nursing and medical regulations and guidelines;
∎ Assist doctors, and attend to, educate and monitor patients where necessary;
∎ Assist Head Nurse to manage medical stock inventory and coordinate with Administrative Department in ordering medical supply Duties;
∎ Keeping up to date with and ensuring compliance with health and safety, nursing and medical regulations and guidelines;
∎ Perform duties in respect of each treatment including but not limited to colonic hydrotherapy, hyperthermia and electro-lymphatic therapy Nursing duties include but not limited to
∎ Opening- Prepare prep list: make up IV bags and set up procedures for patient treatments according to protocols;
∎ Patient Care- Plan/schedule patient care daily.-
∎ Make necessary changes in patient’s daily treatment schedule according to patient responses and doctor’s orders.-
∎ Monitor compliance with patient’s treatment plan – notify administrative coordinator of changes-
∎ Take patient vitals and review labs before beginning treatment.
∎ Draw blood and prepare for laboratory testing according to laboratory specifications per standing/doctor’s orders
∎ Start and monitor IV therapy drip rates according to protocols and/or doctor’s order
∎ Give patient encounter form to take to front desk for daily check out.- Educate patient as required regarding treatments
∎ Educate patient as required in regards to lifestyle and diet.
∎ Procedures/Protocols- Follow procedures for verifying and receiving supplies to invoice/packing slip/purchase order;-
∎ Follow standing orders and protocols for IV therapies and medications;- Adhere to the applicable health and safety / safe handling rules, regulations and techniques for all procedures as well as hazardous waste;
∎ Laboratory Testing
∎ Log blood test results in patients’ chart and communicate with doctors;- Eliminate any duplicates, and keep originals/hard copies of the results;- Have the doctor review and sign all labs and file in patient’s chart;
∎ Charts/Orders
∎ Monitor charts to make sure: All verbal orders documented and signed;- Doctor’s notes are completed and signed;
∎ All orders are written as given and signed;
∎ Treatment plan is documented and signed.
∎ Closing Duties
∎ Perform closing duties according to closing duties list.
∎ Others-
∎ Perform weekly and monthly nursing duties and initial the health and safety / safe handling checklist.
