Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Specialist shall take detailed history including current medications, hospital acquired infection surveillance, and do Physical examination on admission and shall document in the patient record with the first 24 hours of admission. Manage critically ill patients in CCU and also managing all cardiac emergencies in different critical care areas (Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, and High Dependency Unit) Shall document the advised medication and the non drug orders by the primary consultant. As authorized by consultant the will plan for treatment and investigation in consultation primary Consultant. Shall order for Investigations and responsible for sending the patient for the appropriate investigation as directed by the primary consultant and also to authorize investigations, which are urgent. Giving ward rounds and attending referrals with the Consultants in wards & different critical areas. Acts as a Leader of Cardiac arrest team (Code BLUE).· Potential member of Medical emergency team (Code ORANGE).
∎ Assists in cath lab in different procedures & perform Temporary Pacemaker (TPM) independently. Receiving & discharging Patients in Radial lounge & also in different floor.
∎ Perform On call duties in rotation according to the call duty register maintained by the department & also be put on emergency call if necessary. He/ she is to complete the In-Patient rounds everyday before Consultant round and fill the case sheets and progress notes without fail.
