Responsibilities & Context:
∎ To develop and maintain effective communication with patients, their families, nursing, paramedical and medical staff.
∎ To develop work routine and organizational skills which optimize patient management.
∎ To do supervision of all new admissions, their investigations and procedural consents.
∎ To review and document investigation results in hospital records.
∎ It is mandatory that on duty doctor at night must attend each and every case personally and document the status of the patient and treatment given.
∎ To brief the Consultant & Coordinator who is taking charge of duty condition of patient.
∎ To examine the female patient in presence of a nurse or female attendant.
∎ Cognitive Clinical Management: Perform and document history & physical examination.
∎ Formulate differential diagnosis.
∎ Develops and documents initial plan of care.
∎ Modifies daily plan of care.
∎ Writes daily progress notes.
∎ Obtain and document informed consent.
∎ Order appropriate referrals.
∎ Order appropriate investigations.
∎ Interpret laboratory & radiology results.
∎ Order appropriate medication and other orders.
∎ Prepare an appropriate discharge summary.
∎ He/ she has to complete the In-Patient rounds everyday and fill the case sheets and progress notes & all the necessary documents & JCI document in specific chart of medical record without failure.
∎ Departmental Job Specification Attending the round with Consultants.
∎ Assessing the babies in Emergency & admitting them if needed.
∎ Resuscitating the babies after birth & in NNICU-sick babies.
∎ Withdraw blood for investigation purpose.
∎ Giving Blood transfusion, Blood products transfusion.
∎ Doing different procedures—Lumber puncture, ET intubations, Umbilical catheterization, Arterial line, taking Arterial blood for blood gas analysis, Intravenous cannulation, Inserting Oro-gastric tube, Catheterization etc.
∎
∎ VLB babies, Neonatal sepsis, PDA, TSH level etc.
∎ * Procedure always requires discussion or presence of Consultant & Coordinator and above.
