Educational Requirements:
∎ MS/FCPS in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery

Experience Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Shall document the advised medication and the non drug orders by the primary consultant. Can plan for treatment and investigation if authorized by the primary consultant.
∎ Shall order for Investigations and responsible for sending the patient for the appropriate investigation as directed by the primary consultant and also to authorize investigations, which are urgent.
∎ shall attend to the operation theatre cases
∎ Responsible for providing adequate treatment to the patient as advised. Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary.
∎ To check the dosage, frequency, route of administrations of all medications, considering all precautions and do fresh orders.
∎ To take appropriate initiatives in Medical Emergencies when required.
∎ To attend night duty in CTICU by rotation.
∎ To attend cases in the CTICU taking over from the night duty doctors.
∎ To attend to call duties and to handle emergency cases as insertion of chest tubes in ICU settings and in operation theatre.
∎ To take ward rounds everyday.
∎ To see pre-operative patients preparations and post operative follow up twice a day in the morning before starting Operation theatre and in evening.
∎ To take rounds for their corresponding consultant surgeons. Prepare discharge summaries well in time.
∎ Coordinate treatment plan with primary consultants and referral consultants
∎ Shall take part in patient and family education along with the Primary consultant.
∎ Follow hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
∎ To attend all clinical meetings, CME and work shops and actively participate in paper presentations.
∎ To be part of training programme conducted in the hospital and to take continuous initiatives for knowledge and skill up gradation.
∎ Participate in Medical camps when required.
∎ To over see the activities of the Residents and guide them .
∎ To be an active member for the quality initiatives of the department
∎ Any other instruction given by the consultant or DMS.
∎ He/She should be part of the quality improvement of JCI documentation process of the hospital.

∎ Age 25 to 35 years
