Job Context:
∎ Duty station Any upazila (Cox`s Bazar Sadar/ Ukhiya/ Teknaf/ Ramu/ Pekua/ Chakaria/ Maheshkhali/ Kutubdia) of Cox`s Bazar district, Bangladesh.
∎ Starting date 01 October 2020

∎ Coordinates with Officers, Field Promoters, partners, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare drawing, design and cost estimates as per project needs.
∎ Provide technical support to the laborers, masons and contractors to implement construction/infrastructure improvement works as per specifications and standards.
∎ Ensure laborers, contractors are following project implementation guidelines to complete project activities within the agreed timeframe maintaining the highest standards.
∎ Prepare monthly plans and review periodically with the line manager.
∎ Consider disaster resilient features, gender sensitivity, inclusive approach as a cross cutting issues during project planning and implementation.
∎ Assess needs for construction/infrastructure improvement activities at health facility level.
∎ Lead data collection, record keeping and update the project database to measure the progress of planned activities.
∎ Prepare and submit infrastructural reports to the line manager within the stipulated time.
∎ Liaise with local government representatives/administration, authorities at field level and different committees to coordinate the construction/infrastructure improvement activities and avoid duplication.
∎ Participate different coordination meetings at field level.
∎ Manage and build technical capacities of the construction workers to carry out their responsibilities properly.
∎ Assist in organizing and implementing technical training on construction issues.
∎ Facilitate field level technical training and orientation sessions to the committees, contractors, masons, etc.
∎ Participate in different trainings nominated by the line manager.
∎ Manage budget for the assigned project activities and ensure all expenses are according to budget and met standards regarding financial management.
∎ Monitor the proper use of materials, financial and human resources.
∎ Asses and consult other partners to ensure security situation of planned locations is calms; Ensure risk assessment and share security information.
∎ Responsible to put in place appropriate security and prevention measured during any distribution and implementation of project activities.
∎ Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years' experience in development organization preferably in Shelter/NFI/ Site improvement/construction field.
∎ Priority will be given to the candidates who have experience in WASH in health care facilities construction work.
∎ Keep strong coordination with other implementing agencies and local governmental authorities at field level.
∎ Knowledge on computer operating system, estimation software and Auto CAD will get preference.
∎ Knowledge on different standards (Sphere, Core humanitarian standards, etc).
∎ Good English skills (written and spoken).
∎ Chittagonian local dialect is a plus.
∎ Willingness to accept frequent field visits. Driving motorbike with valid driving license is an asset.
∎ Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
∎ Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively; Flexibility and Stress-management.
Salary: Tk. 42400 (Monthly)
