Job Context:
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed term contract up to February 2024
∎ Job Purpose:
∎ The Site Engineer will be responsible for organising works in relation to design, establishment of nutrition sites / training centers in the camps and host community. He/she will ensure the quality of the establishment and necessary maintenance work.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design and establishment:
∎ Create standard training centre / site design plans and Bill of Quantities (BOQ's) incorporating the Shelter & Site Management standards as per the Guides on Risk Mitigation Works, Community Structures Design & Strengthening Guide, Decommissioning Guide and any other guides, which are updated or introduced during your employment
∎ Create drawings and BOQ's for small works on risk mitigation that you evaluate on each of the sites
∎ Create reference budgets for training centre design and the small works on risk mitigation so as to ensure the Concern is getting best value for money
∎ Assist the Logistics Team to identify suitable construction contractors who are suitably qualified to carry out the works required
∎ Supervise, oversee and direct establishment from conception to completion
∎ Maintenance:
∎ Monitor and identify any maintenance work required and complete the works accordingly
∎ Create reference budgets for maintenance work to ensure the Concern is getting best value for money
∎ Coordination:
∎ Ensure necessary approval from Camp in Charges (CiC) office in collaboration with Project Officers. 2
∎ Reporting:
∎ Report on the weekly progress and submit a written report to the training coordinator
∎ Prepare Certificate of Completion for each phase completed and prepare the payments for those completed works phases
∎ Ensure that the projects will be completed as agreed by both parties. Any project running behind schedule must be reported immediately to the training coordinator with recommendations to ensure it is completed on time.
∎ Additional Roles:
∎ Promote and ensure compliance with the requirements of Concern's HR policies, concern's Code of Conduct and its associated policies and Core Humanitarian Standards of Accountability to ensure protection to programme beneficiaries.
∎ Perform other duties assigned by Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager.
∎ Accountability:
∎ In line with Concern's commitments under the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS):
∎ Actively promote meaningful community participation and consultation at all stages of the project cycle (planning, implementation, M&E);
∎ Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that the Complaints and Response Mechanism (CRM) is functional and accessible, that feedback and complaints are welcomed and addressed;
∎ Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that information about CRM, safeguarding and expected staff behaviour is disseminated among programme participants and communities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 1 year experience in construction design work
∎ Experience in site improvement field in Rohingya camps will get preference.
∎ Experience of working in AutoCAD is required.
∎ Have good knowledge on Rohingya refugee programmes will get is preference.
∎ Key competencies:
∎ Pro- active with an ability to think analytically
∎ Ability to work in challenging environments.
∎ Ability to work under pressure
Salary: Tk. 38000 (Monthly)
